Indonesia travel update

Indonesia is not yet officially open for international tourism. Only foreigners holding a valid visa from accepted categories or a stay permit are allowed to enter Indonesia.

The beginning of 2022 is often cited as the possible date for opening borders to general tourism. The authorities in Bali are taking steps that would allow reopening the island to international tourism much earlier than the whole country – possibly as soon as in summer 2021. Though, given the recent surge in Covid infections in Indonesia, this plan may fail.
